Stay-at-Home Book Haul

Hello Guardians…

So, as I’m sure you all know most everything is shut down and people are basically forced to stay in their houses. Well, what is there to do in the house? Not all that much. I basically will be on a screen 24/7. I don’t really like that, so well, I bought some books. I’ve definitely been reading a lot more during the quarantine, plus I discovered Book Outlet, so I may have went overboard…

I feel like I should tell you that I got a really good deal on pretty much all of these books, and I also paid for all of them with my own money. (with the exception of about 3) So, it’s not that I’m spoiled, I just have a book buying problem…

(But seriously, I didn’t even get close to paying $200 for all of these books)

Yeah, I definitely went overboard. These are (almost) all the books I’ve gotten since the beginning of March. March.

The first set of books that I ordered were ordered before the world turned to crap.

For my birthday, I bought the first Keeper of the Lost Cities book. I started reading it, and I thought that it was really good! So, I quickly logged on to Amazon, eager to order book 2. That way, I could start that right after I finished book 1. Anyway, I saw that it would end up being cheaper to just buy books 1-5, so I did that. Now, I have 2 copies of book 1(don’t worry! I’m sure one will find itself a nice home) Oh, and here’s the funny part! After I finished book 1, I wasn’t super interested in reading the next one quickly. I mean, I definitely want to continue with this series, I just want to read some other series’ first. It’s kind of funny though.

So, whenever it was talked about that we might have to stay at home for a while, I got pretty depressed. To cure my depression, I decided to order more books! I ordered Archenemies, Supernova(books 2 &3 in the Renegades trilogy), Honor Among Thieves, The Final Six, and Empress of a Thousand Skies. Despite not having read the first Renegades book, I went ahead and ordered the next two in the series. I don’t regret it, because now that I’ve read the trilogy, I love the second two books. Anyway, I haven’t read the other three books I got in this order, but the covers are stunning.(I’ll show them to y’all toward the end of this post.)

Next, was a free eBook that I got! For a few days, Disney was offering a free eBook of Conceal, Don’t Feel. I snatched one up, because I’m interested in the idea of the Twisted Tales series. And hey, worst case scenario, it was free.

Well, a week or so passed and I was perfectly content with the books I currently had. Then, I happened to stumble upon Book Outlet, and um, WOW! The books there are really cheap and brand new too! Some of the books did arrive damaged, but for a $3 hardcover, that isn’t bad. Anyway, I’ve yet to read any of these books, but I got Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, Sorcery of Thorns, Nightfall, A Touch of Gold, Etiqutte and Espionage, Hunted, For Darkness Shows Stars, Warcross, and The Queen’s Rising.

These next 3 were my Easter presents. My parents got me Wires and Nerve Gone Rogue (which I have already read and loved), and my grandma got me Caraval and Red Queen.

I had just started Caraval when I took these photos, but I’ve finished it by now.

Okay, this is my last Book Outlet haul for a while. (future Diamond here, umm no)

I wasn’t going to make another Book Outlet order less than 2 weeks after that last one, but well, here we are. The reason I made this particular order was because 3 of these books went into stock that day and I’d had my eye on them for a while. I snatched the a copy before they sold out.

Anyway, I got This Savage Song, Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Ignite Me, Long May She Reign, Burning Glass, Debutantes and Daggers(which is the first two books in the Rebel Belle trilogy) Scythe, Blood of a Thousand Stars, and finally, The Hazel Wood.

Now, um, I took these photos on April 25. Well…

I may have ordered two more books since then. So, these aren’t exactly included in the featured image because I didn’t have them yet. Anyway, these are Legendary and Finale. I bought them because I really liked Caraval. I’m currently about halfway into Legendary, but um, Finale arrived printed upside down? I’m not entirely sure what to do about that, but I don’t really want to return it.

So that is a grand total of 36 books!

Anyway, I intend to quit buying books for a least a little while. At least, until I get a bookshelf.(haha, Diamond what are you thinking?)

Um, yeah. So I wrote the majority of this post on Saturday, April 25th. That wasn’t all that long ago, but I’ve kind of ordered more books?

*hides in shame*

I can kind of justify this one! I was ordering a birthday present for my dad off Book Outlet, and obviously I’m not about to pay $5 for shipping. So, I kind of ordered 5 more books.(plus the 2 for my dad) But those won’t be included in this haul because it will probably be a while before I get them.

Anyway, it certainly wasn’t my intention to buy 43 books in two months. Oops. Again, I’m not trying to brag or come across as spoiled, as I did buy most of these with my own money and got really good deals on everything.

Here are the book covers if you’re interested! Which one is your favorite? I really like Empress of a Thousand Skies, but the Shatter Me covers are beautiful too.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think of them! Are there any books you feel I would like based off these books?

    1. 😂me too, and I bought them.
The Renegades trilogy is really good, eh? Try Book Outlet, they might get some in. Plus, like I said, I got books for $2-$5, so it’s a really good deal.

Caraval does have a nice cover! I loved that book. Have you read it?

      1. Oh wow, I’ll have to check that out then. I haven’t yet, though I put a hold on the e-book. I think I was 128th or so in line though, so it could be a while. XD

  2. oh my goodness, Diamond, so many books! WOAH.

but these all sound like good books, and the covers look just gorgeous (I know I’m not supposed to just a book by it’s cover, but still….😂) Anyways, this was a very enjoyable post, Diamond! (and also, my bedroom’s painted pink too (just a different shade)) 💜

    1. WOAH indeed.

I’m pretty sure everyone judges books by covers, at least a little bit. I’m glad you liked it!(cool! My parents painted it when I was three, so I definitely wish it wasn’t so bright at times.😂)

  4. Wow, that’s a lot of books.
I’ve read a few of them, but some I’ve never even heard of.
    They all look good, though.
I rarely buy books but I get lots of them for holidays so I guess that makes up for it.
I have 25 books, as of now, I think…….not counting audiobooks though.
