For KOTLC Fans…(Tags + Announcement)

Hello Guardians! KOTLC fans are in for a big treat today!

We all know that doing awards/tags isn’t common over here at IH12OP. I just…don’t really like doing them? But…occassionally I see ones that I like and want to do! So, today I will be doing 2 KOTLC themed tags! I hope you enjoy! (Also, stay tuned until the end for an announcement!)

I wanted to start this post out with the KOTLC Book Tag, created by Potterhead Aanya. When I saw that there was a KOTLC tag, I jumped on board.

The Questions

Hmmm, I feel like this is a trope that I dislike? I don’t read a lot of books with characters like this, so it’s hard to think of one!

Why am I completely blanking on every book I’ve ever read? I think…I’m going to go with Katniss from The Hunger Games. She’s pretty protective of her friends and family.

Hmmmmm, I feel like I wished I could have read more about Scarlett from Caraval? Even though she was the main character of book one, she kind of disappeared from books 2-3? I just wish I could have read more about her.

The only one I can really think of is Spensa from Skyward. I kind of hated her at first? But in book 2 I liked her? I don’t know. She’s interesting to read about though.

The first one that comes to mind…is…Fitz Vacker. I just…I don’t understand why the fandom hates him so much? Like, yes he is terrible at times, but he is also justified half the time.

I just read this series, so that’s probably why it’s on my mind. Basically, everyone from the Entwined Tales series gets dragged into the plot. Specifically, I’ll go with Princess Clio from A Little Mermaid.

The first character I thought of was Ruby from The Darkest Minds. Her power is very dangerous and I really loved seeing her grow.

How have I not brought up The Lunar Chronicles yet? Winter Hayle for sure!

Instantly, I thought of Elisette from A Beautiful Curse. I don’t know that there could be a more perfect character for this question. Honorable Mention: Celeste from A Princess Game. I loved that book so much!

I’m going to go with Princess Ava from The Four Kingdoms series. She’s pretty shady…

This is a bit of a stretch, but I’ll go with Arianna Glavan from the Ravenspire series. Uhhh, simply because I loved her character and how she wasn’t afraid to do what needed to be done. But ultimately, she still cared a lot about the things that mattered to her. (like food.)

I haven’t actually read the books(yet), but I can’t think of a better choice than Sam from Lord of the Rings. At least in the movie, he was incredibly loyal to Frodo. He’s definitely my favorite LOTR character.

Which book? The whole series? 10. Certain books are more like a 7 though.

What do you think of Wylie?

Um, he’s kinda cool I guess? I like the sort of brotherly relationship that he has with Sophie.

Um, I don’t know. I guess I think it should have been more unique? But I guess we still have a lot to learn about it.

…yes. I may or may not have bought by best friend the first book for her birthday.

Is there any name you’re really confused about how to pronounce (or were confused about, but your doubts got cleared after reading the pronunciation section in Unlocked)?

Um, not really. But in my head, Keefe Sencen is pronounced differently.

Dex or Biana?

Oof, that’s hard! I feel like we’ve seen a little more of Biana lately, and I like her personality. But I also value Dex’s loyalty. I can’t pick.

As far as nominees go, if you’ve read the series, consider yourself nominated!

Theories – I feel like Sophie’s dad will be someone that we’re not expecting? Like, it’s probably not even anyone mentioned in the book. Ummm, I also feel like we’re nearing the end of the series, but I don’t think book 9 will be the end because there are too many loose ends to tie up.

…what’s this about a KOTLC Read-A-Long you ask?

I’m hosting a KOTLC Read-a-long!

This is a very relaxed read-a-long. Basically, I’m hoping that I can get a group of bloggers to read/re-read the series with me this year! We’ll be starting in March, and reading a book every month. I’m going to make a group chat on Hangouts/Google Chat where we can discuss the book for the month!

Now, I’m hoping this is something that anyone interested in reading the series can participate in. If you haven’t read the books yet, now’s the perfect time to do so! And if you need to catch up with the series, you can always join in at any point throughout the readathon. Hey, even if you don’t want to read the books again, you can still pop in and discuss them. Like I said, this read-a-long is very chill. I just want everyone to be able to participate if they want to. Let me know if you’re interested!
