Prepare for the Beach With Me

Heya diamonds! I’ve been talking about a beach trip for a while now, haven’t I? Well it’s finally almost here! For today’s post, I’ll be taking you along my various preparations for the beach. I hope you like it!

The first half of this post will be a haul, and the second part more of a vlog style post.

Shein Haul

The first part of this post is a haul from none other than Shein! I shared my first impressions of Shein earlier on this blog. You might remember that one of the pants didn’t fit? I returned those and decided to make another order. This time, I wanted some stuff for the beach, especially swimsuits!

This first swimsuit is one I ordered for my mom…so I don’t have much to say about this one.

Here are some pants. I ordered them to replace the other pair. These ones fit MUCH better. I really love the color!

Alright, now this is a cover up that I bought. I’m really happy with it! I think I might even be able to wear it other than just when I’m at the beach.

I really liked this swimsuit! But sadly, it didn’t fit quite right. I’ll have to return this one when I get back from the beach. Which is a shame, since it was my favorite of the bunch. But, luckily I did order three more!

This one fit okay, but I just didn’t like it that much. I knew I’d never chose this over one of the other swimsuits, and I just decided I’d rather return it.

Oh, this one was so disappointing. I think it probably would’ve fit, but honestly I didn’t even try it on. As soon as I pulled it out of the package, I noticed that the top is made of mesh. So, basically my stomach would be exposed. I don’t like that style of swimsuits for myself, so there’s another swimsuit going back.

(It’s a good thing I ordered four swimsuits)

Finally, a swimsuit that worked! I like this one a lot. And…I certainly don’t mind that it was the cheapest of the bunch.

I heard that it was a good idea to take a mesh bag to the beach. That way, you can shake out loose sand. Plus, it was cheap. So I decided, why not?

This had purely no purpose other than the fact that I wanted these anklets. I don’t regret it one bit, I mean, I ended up paying 86 cents for them!

I got 4 waterproof lanyards for my family to put our phones in while at the beach. I feel like it was a good buy.

Again, no real purpose behing this. I just thought it was beautiful and so I bought it.

Okay, this one is a gift for my mom. It is a little early to be buying Christmas gifts, but I like being early!

(and don’t worry, she won’t accidentally see this. I don’t think she reads my blog. =) )

Finally, we have this blanket. I got it as a Christmas present for Rocket. Now, it’s MUCH smaller than I was expecting. However, my dog weighs 9 pounds, so that’s okay. But if you have like, a Shih Tzu, or a more medium sized dog, I don’t think this would fit!

Misc Haul

I also purchased some other things I wanted to share here. Some of these weren’t purchased specifically for the beach, but I still felt like sharing them.

Firstly, I have this Shang Chi T-Shirt. Now, I did pack this for the beach, but the reason I got it was to wear at the movies. I think it’s very nice!

DSC_8728

A cheap pair of flip flops from Old Navy. Nothing special here. But at least, this way my good flip flops won’t get ruined.

These are beach blankets! Hopefully they’ll help not get sand everywhere. Anyway, there was a BOGO sale on these, so that’s why I got 2.

DSC_8730

So we don’t have a lot of beach towels? This one was actually free with Kohl’s Cash. I think it’s a great buy.

IMG-4050

This is more school related than beach, but look at these Spidey folders? When I saw them on clearance at Target, I just couldn’t pass them up!

My headphones broke…

It was very sad. But anyway, I had to buy new ones. I like these ones better. The battery lasts much longer.

i kind of bought this with the beach in mind, but what do you know? I’ve already finished the book. It was very good and I very much recommend.

I’ve kinda been trying to limit my use of cheap plastic water bottles. Partially due to the environment, but mostly just because the darn things went up in price. But the 16 oz size is so convenient for me, and most of our cups aren’t 16 oz. So I went and bought a new cup! This is a Tervis with the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda on it, so it’s a winner in my book.

The last thing in this haul is baby wipes. To wipe the sand off.

Beach Preparations

DSC_8733

Let’s start with the books I’m taking. Look how they’re all ocean themed! It’s gonna be great.

DSC_8833

Okay, now this is my beach bag. I have no idea if I’ll need any of it at the beach, but I figure it’s better to be safe than sorry.

DSC_8834

Here I have a lot of my stuff gathered on my bed. I actually had a surprisingly easy time deciding what clothes I wanted to take.

DSC_8835

I didn’t however have an easy time deciding what outfit to wear on the trip. I’m very indecisive…

DSC_8836

I have the BEST helper!

DSC_8837

Finally, I got all packed up!

IMG-4173

One thing I did a lot of the day before we left was cooking. I cooked some freezer meals ahead of time to save money on eating out, and I had a LOT of chicken. So I made chicken noodle soup. Yes, this giant pot was just for two people. We ate lunch, and dinner, and froze a bunch.

I also did a lot of dishes.

IMG-4175

I also baked blueberry muffins. Very delicious.

IMG-4176

My final piece of preparation is my planning! I did a bunch of research on things to do at the beach, so hopefully we’ll have an awesome time while we’re there!

Okay, so by the time you’re reading this, I’m probably back from the beach! You can ask me how the trip was! But…she’s also got a recap post in the works. At least you better…

Tell me about your typical vacation preparations in the comments below!

    1. I did!
I’m not actually sure? I don’t think they officially cancel out noise, but they’re pretty good for drowning out background noise. I definitely think they’re a good investment.
      Thanks!

  1. I recommend you had taken ” The Summer I turned Pretty ” by Jenny Han as it has an immense love of beach trope there and its a summer book though its Autumn where i live …. Its not that great of a book I person have a love hate relationship with it but you will be amused by it
