Bullet Journaling on a Budget

Hey Guardians! In case you couldn’t tell from the title, I’m going to be showing you guys how to bullet journal on a budget! I know a lot of people think that it’s expensive to start a bullet journal, but really, it isn’t! I’m going to be showing you my methods for bullet journaling on a budget!

Ok, so the first thing we’re going to be talking about is supplies. Notebooks can be expensive, but they don’t have to be. I typically pay about $5 for my bullet journals, and believe me, that is a good price.

I’m going to be sharing two budget friendly versions of the bullet journal today, one is basically free, and the other is less than $20.

Option 1

Regular notebook – usually under $1

Ballpoint pen – pretty much free.

Option 2

Dotted notebook – $5 at Michaels

Tombow Brush Pens – $5

Crayola super tips – $7 for a 50 pack.

That is it! That’s all you need to start a bullet journal, and personally, I believe that’s all you really need. It isn’t expensive at all! Anyway, now I’ll be showing some spreads you can make with these supplies.

Here is a spread I made with the “free” option. It is a title page for February. As you can see, it fulfills the purpose of seperating the different months. You can even decorate it a little!

But, personally I prefer a little bit more color, and the more expensive option does that. This is a very simple page that you can do with just a couple markers.

These are two ways to “fake” calligraphy. All you really do for both methods is make the up strokes thin, and the down strokes wider.

Here’s a weekly spread that you can do with just a regular pen. It’s pretty easy to do, so I won’t explain it that much.

You can also make habit trackers with both of these methods! They’re both very simple, the main difference is just that one uses black x’s and the other one gets colored in.

You can also make a calendar that is pretty simple.

Finally, here’s my last weekly spread. I made it with the markers, and it’s very similar to the black and white one, just with some added colors.
