Assessing August 2021 ~ Monthly Reflections

Heya diamonds!

I haven’t ever done a monthly recap on this blog, but I kinda want to try it out? I might end up just doing it this once, but who knows? Maybe it’ll stick around.

I’m going to be doing this in my style. I don’t know exactly what my style of recap posts is yet, but we’re about to find out. I do know that I’ll be going over events, goals, and favorites.

Okay, now let’s talk about August!

I think I mentioned this already but I’m not sure…I spent most of July/August at my grandmother’s house halfway across the country. I loved it. We had a nice time there. I really love my grandma and she’s honestly one of my closest friends.

The Olympics happened. I was so glad Team USA won! We had great swimmers and runners this year.

I went shopping a bit. I even bought my first Christmas present on August 2nd. 😉 I also went shopping one day with my cousin.

I went swimming some this month!

One weekend, we went to a funeral. 😦 It was sad, but at least we got to see some family we don’t normally see. I also got to see my parents for the first time in a month.

Oh, speaking of! The smoke alarm went off at our hotel. Fun.

I helped Grandma organize her house some. Speaking of, we got new floors at my house while I was away. I swear I’m going to do a home reno post someday.

Blogging – It might not look like I had a busy blogging month, but trust me, I was working a lot behind the scenes! September – December will be awesome!

My parents came back to my grandma’s house. This also meant I got a car to drive! I missed driving. And I just wouldn’t feel comfortable in Grandma’s car.

We came home. Sad. I miss Grandma.

Also there’s a bunch of random stuff in my room from the floor installation. So, that’s fun.

(Normally I would add photos in this section, but I have a photography dump and more thorough recap coming up soon)

Since I didn’t really share any of my goals for August, I’ll just go right ahead and share my goals for September. But if I ever do another one of these, I will reflect on the previous month’s goals.

September’s Goals

  • Prepare for beach trip (that way I won’t have to starve or go naked. Food and clothes are important guys)
  • See Shang Chi in the theaters (assuming COVID doesn’t shut theaters down AGAIN)
  • Catch up on reading (I’m very behind on my goal of 100 books)
  • Get Christmas gifts (it’s just a *tad* early)
  • Aftershock premiere week (soon)
  • Write draft one of Santa’s Workshop (what’s this? idk)
  • Re-do bear house (at the very least get some “wallpaper”)
  • Organize studio (girl, clean it out so you can work on blog and school stuff in there)
  • Organize bedroom (um, at least be able to sleep in there{I swear I’m not that dirty I’ve just been gone for 2 months and my mom probably put a bunch of random crap in there from downstairs})
  • Declutter house (you have wayyy too much stuff. donate or sell it ASAP)
  • Find some snack recipes (kinda healthy…but also tasty)
  • Watch football with dad (even if you’re on the computer the whole time)
  • Limit phone time to 2 hrs a day (but…no limit on laptop time!)
  • Do okay in school (DON’T FAIL)
  • Earn money (allowance? Etsy? Rob a bank? …probably not that last one…)
  • Save money (i.e. don’t blow all your money)
  • Start back painting (at least one thing? you haven’t painted since the beginning of summer)
  • Write a “good morning note” for 1 week (I read about this thing where you write yourself a letter before bed and it seems cool)
  • Send birthday cards (do you know anyone with a birthday in September?)
  • Get up early (as in…before noon preferrably)
  • Get married (definitely going to happen. Or maybe not… *sad face* But maybe if I keep putting it on here, one month it’ll happen? *manifesting*)

I realize I kind of over-did it on this list of goals. Um…have fun with that future Diamond.

Let me recap what happened on the blog in August. I think I’ll recap both blogs on here just because I feel like it…

IH12OP

I think that’s a pretty good number of posts for the month! I think my favorite post was the recent purchases one. I also want to remind you to comment some posts for me to react to! Only one person has done so so far.

BABF

I feel pretty good about the month over here. September should have a lot of fun surprises though…

I also want to remind you all to vote on the CHH 2022 logo if you haven’t already!

How this section is going to work, is I’m going to chose one favorite out of each category: books, movies, TV shows, music, beauty products, blog post or whatever I want to talk about! I’m just choosing one because otherwise we could be here forever…

BOOKWildcard by Marie Lu. I didn’t read too much this month, but I did really enjoy reading the finale to Warcross.

MOVIE – In all honestly, I didn’t watch many movies either. I did go to the theaters with my grandma to see Respect, and that was a good experience.

TV SHOW – I’m going to go with What If… because I enjoyed it, and I also have a limited number to choose from. LOL.

SONGCross Your Mind

BEAUTY – e.l.f. multisticks!

POSTMy friend Evin celebrated her birthday in August. I enjoyed her recap post a lot, and also happy belated birthday Evin!

(I also want to note that I read many great posts this month! So please don’t feel bad if I didn’t choose yours.)

Okay, well that’s my recap of August! Hopefully if I do this again it’ll be better 😀

Tell me about your August. What’s a goal you have for September?

  6. You definitely need to do more posts like this!

I’d I had the time, I’d say something about almost every sentence in the post. But, to save both of our time, I won’t.

This was so fun to read!

    Love ya!
